Introduction

The civilization of ancient Greece has made important contributions to philosophy, theatre, politics, educational systems, mathematics, science, medicine, art and astronomy. The Grecian way of life laid the foundations for modern democracy. The first library in the world was built in Egypy when it was under control of Alexander. [1] Even the modern Olympic Games take inspiration from ancient Olympic Games held every four years in the honor of Zeus. [2]

However, there was one node that kept all of ancient Greece together during it’s hey day. It was none other than the Oracle of Delphi — a well-known sacred site in Greece that was independent and had no affiliations to any power centers such as Sparta, Athens or Corinth. At that time, the people had such faith in Oracle’s view of the future that no major decision was made without consulting the Oracle of Delphi first. [3]
